Meet people who have gained back their quality of life with hearing aids - read or listen to their stories - how they experience having a hearing loss and how hearing aids have improved their every day life.
I think that I was about 35 when all things started to get very difficult; talking to people, my job… It was a big chock realising that I could not hear properly.
The worst thing is when people say something and you do not hear it and ask, ‘Pardon’. Then they repeat it in the same way and you still do not hear it, and ask if they could please say that again. If people simply say: ‘Oh, it does not matter’ it really feels terrible.
Of course it matters, because I want to hear what people are saying to me. It has been a hard process recognising and accepting my hearing loss, but the hearing aid has helped me to bridge the gap between the hearing impaired world and the hearing world.
